Recover with precision and professional-grade support. Infracare Dual-Stay Wrist Support is engineered for patients and athletes requiring stabilization of the carpal joints. Featuring a sophisticated bracing system, this support provides the structural integrity of a cast with the breathable comfort of modern orthotics.
This orthosis is indicated for the management of various musculoskeletal and neurological conditions affecting the wrist, including:
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS): Reducing median nerve compression by maintaining a neutral wrist position.
Acute Tendonitis & Tenosynovitis: Limiting repetitive motion to allow inflammatory reduction.
Grade II & III Ligamentous Sprains: Providing external stabilization to the radiocarpal and midcarpal joints.
Post-Fracture Rehabilitation: Supporting the wrist following the removal of a plaster cast (Colles’ or Smith’s fractures).
Rheumatoid Arthritis & Osteoarthritis: Minimizing joint deviation and alleviating chronic inflammatory pain.
Unlike standard sleeves, this support features removable volar (front) and dorsal (back) metal stays. This dual-stay configuration provides comprehensive sagittal plane control, preventing both hyperflexion and hyperextension of the wrist.
Twin Primary Velcro Strapping: Two high-tensile straps allow for targeted circumferential compression, ensuring the brace conforms to the specific anatomy of the forearm and wrist.
Distal Anchor Strap: An additional stabilization strap located at the base of the wrist reinforces the “radial-ulnar” axis, preventing the brace from shifting during activity.
To ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes and prevent circulatory constriction, the brace is available in two anatomically scaled sizes and specific lateral orientations:
Orientation: Dedicated Left and Right models for a true anatomical fit.
Sizing: * Small to Medium: Optimized for slender to average bone structures.
Large to X-Large: Designed for larger circumferences and robust frames.
Rigid Immobilization: The medical-grade stays ensure the wrist remains in a functional, neutral position to accelerate tissue healing.
Adjustable Rigidity: Stays can be removed independently to transition from rigid immobilization to flexible support as the patient progresses through physical therapy.
Soft Tissue Compression: The neoprene-blend chassis provides therapeutic warmth, increasing local vasodilation and aiding in the resorption of edema.
Enhanced Proprioception: The secure fit improves the wearer’s neuromuscular awareness of the joint, preventing accidental reinjury.
